Terms of the Competition


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Gender: The Championship is open to female amateur golfers.
2. Membership: Players must be a member of the NYSGA, defined as either belonging to an NYSGA member club or an
NYSGA eClub (NYS residency required of eClub members).

3. Age: The following age requirements are set for each Championship:

  • Amateurs: None.
  • Mid-Amateurs: At least 25 years old as of June 29, 2020.

4. USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued through their NYSGA member club.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

Entries: Player must register online prior to the established deadline (see below). Entries by mail or fax will not be accepted. A player may only submit one entry. Any player found to have submitted more than one entry may be subject to disqualification.
Entry Fee (Amateurs): $150
Entry Fee (Mid-Amateurs): $125

Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (5PM EST on Monday, June 22, 2020). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or via email at deb@nysga.org): Prior to Deadline: Entry fee less $20. After the Deadline: Entry fee less $50.

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS, SCHEDULE, AND FORMAT
There are two championships being conducted concurrently at Teugega, the NYS Women's Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championships. Listed below is the schedule and format for each championship:

 

91st NYS Women's Amateur Championship - Stroke Play, 54 holes

  • Rounds 1 & 2: Monday, June 29 (36 Holes)
  • Cut: There is a cut after 36 holes to the low 50% of the field and any player within 10 strokes of the lead.
  • Round 3: Tuesday, June 30 (18 Holes)
  • Ties: In the event of a tie for the Championship after 54 holes, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play.

 

12th NYS Women's Mid-Amateur Championship - Stroke Play, 36 Holes

  • Round 1: Monday, June 29 (18 Holes)
  • Round 2: Tuesday, June 30 (18 Holes)
  • Ties: In the event of a tie after 36 holes, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

New: The NYSGA executive committee has CANCELED the scheduled practice round.
 

CADDIES

New: The use of a caddie is prohibited for both championships.

 

GOLF CARTS

New: The use of a golf cart is approved for both championships (one player per cart). The per round fee will be posted here when available. Payment will be collected by the golf shop staff prior to each round.

 

PULL CARTS

The use of pull carts, whether manual or electric, is approved for both championships.

SCORING
New: All players will be required to record hole-by-hole scores using a mobile app (USGA's Tournament Management Golf Genius), available on Android and Apple App Stores.

 

PLAYER LUNCHES
A complimentary lunch will be provided each day.

 

AWARDS

Trophies are awarded to the winner and runner-up in both championships.

 

SPECTATORS

New: Spectators are limited to one (1) person per player.

 

As a guest of the host club and the NYSGA, spectators are expected to dress in golf appropriate clothing and quietly follow players. Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages should be kept at a minimum. Cell phones must be either turned off or set to silent. Follow your players from a distance (at least 20 yards) and stay in the rough or on the cart paths. Do not lag behind the players as this often delays players in the group behind. Spectator carts are not permitted, exceptions are only allowed if the Handicap Cart Request form (see below) is submitted seven days prior to the start of the competition (no exceptions).

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal appearance.

 

PLAYER MEMO FOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Will be available and emailed to the players on Wednesday, June 17th.

 

CONDITIONS; TERMS; SCHEDULES

The NYSGA reserves the right to amend any of the conditions, terms, or schedules published for this Championship. The decision of the NYSGA in any matter will be final.
